June Chandler's Actors Workshop The commercial industry is the launching pad for most acting careers. Every agency, no matter how large, will at some time take on a newcomer... but that newcomer must have excellent casting, great personality and attitude, know their craft and BE READY TO WORK. This workshop is run in a top commercial casting studio exactly like the audition. You will LEARN THE PROCESS, step by step. from getting the agent, to the audition, to the callback, to work on the set. Each week you'll practice the current trends in AUDITION TECHNIQUES... slates, personality interviews, one liners, improvisation, spokes copy. bite'n smile. You'll learn necessary CAMERA TECHNIQUE... cheating, how to work in double: and groups, product handling, communicating with the camera, cold reading techniques for scripts and cue cards. A lot of beginning ACTING TECHNIQUE is taught... understanding the story, how to prepare in the lobby, copy breakdown, making it conversational, bringing yourself to the part, making bold choices, creating a life and creating a character. You'll have a unique opportunity to get your PROFESSIONAL TOOLS. We work with each actor to design a professional resume and you'll also be welcome no participate in a discounted color photo shoot. It's important upon entering a new field that you learn about THE INDUSTRY... agents, unions, contracts. residuals, administration of your business, photo reproductions, public relations. business etiquette. We believe that ATTITUDE is even more important in the business: than talent... your professionalism, determination, organization, ability to concentrate and focus, to work with a director and agent, using your time well, and keeping a positive and enthusiastic approach to your work. The culmination of your training is the AGENT SHOWCASE. Don't worry after 6 weeks of classes you'll be more than ready. The industry is invited to meet you and see you perform in a commercial callback setting. Hopefully, this is when YOU WILL BEGIN the process you have learned.
