Does anyone know if it’s possible to download self tapes from past auditions on actors access/ eco cast?
(sorry about the length) Hi. I'm a 15 year old girl living in Greece. Whenever I watch a movie, a series, behind the scenes videos, actors on talk shows, etc, I get this feeling I can't really explain, and a huge urge to act. I've been daydreaming about being an actor for years. I know this is basically every teens dream and I've tried telling myself that I probably won't make it but I still think about it every day. I've never really acted before so I know it's stupid that I'm set on becoming an actor but I've been thinking about it for so long and there's no other job I feel would make me happy. I'm extremely shy and anxious but the 2 times I've acted in school plays felt amazing and I felt so free! However, for a bunch of reasons, I can't take theater classes and my school doesn't have a drama club or anything similar. Greece doesn't really produce movies, and theater actors are underpaid, so I was thinking that maybe I could move and go to college in the US, take theater classes there, hopefully find a stable job and pursue acting until I can make it my main career. What's holding me back tho is the fact that it's gonna be extremely expensive for me to move and I'll have to leave family and friends behind. Also, I'm mostly interested in tv/film and not theater so there's no guarantee I'll make it and I'm kinda scared. If I stay in my country I'll probably have a more relaxed and stable life, I can take over my parent's business and make a good income. But if I manage to make it as an actor, my life is gonna be a dream. I've been thinking of living in another country anyways ,though, so I guess that even if I can't become an actor I'll just do a normal job there or something . Anyway, I don't really know anything about acting though so I was wondering how I could learn (in detail) about it and also the process of becoming an actor (I've read the FAQ). Like, how do you find a manager? How do you get "discovered"? How much experience should you have before going to auditions and can you get casted if you don't have experience? And, what's your thoughts on my "plan"? Lastly, and please be brutally honest, is there even a chance I can make it or will I end up regretting this?
I think you can see two stories of someone working tirelessly on their craft each day, especially in acting. Think monologue work, self tape practicing, character study and beat work. Watching shows they could be in etc. I also think there is value as an actor and ignoring these completely and living life how it is and simply observing. Lately I find that the way I learn the most is doing projects. Not really anything of substance from solo work. Does that mean to make your own projects? What do you do each day?
Hello Reddit, I just received my first contract from my first agency this week. I’m planning on signing shortly. I want to continue to self submit so this pertains to the related question below. Anyways the advice I need pertains to self submitting. I’ve been self submitting for over a year and a half now and booked decent student films, unfortunately a lot of the times the footage was not given or the footage was of poor quality. In other words I’m not too proud of my current reel as it doesn’t showcase my talent and skills in a good light. But I’ve been given a real big opportunity with an agent in Kansas City. (I travel in Arkansas, KC, and Dallas. Based in Arkansas and Dallas). The question I have is do I sign up for actors access despite not having a solid reel? I’ve been on backstage and have been scared to sign up for AA because of my reel. What do you think I should do? I’d love to continue self submitting but I feel I’ve outgrown backstage right now and would like to try the more serious site IE actors access. Any advice would be great!!
I'm aware that most of the time, VAs who leak content often simply lose their reputation. I'm curious though, are there any notable instances where leaking a project resulted in huge repercussions for the actor? Or anything related to the project honestly (of course including the leak itself.)
Sorry for the arrogance since I am not in the industry nor do I know much about VA. Appreciating voice acting has naturally been a big part of the enjoyment for me when I watch shows or play a game. But I noticed that big Hollywood production animated movies seldom has any professional voice actors in them. An example is League of Legends' Arcane in which they did not use the voice actors from the game for the show. I understand that professional actors/actresses have the ability to voice act as well, but other than to sell tickets off of recognition, what reasons are there that VAs are not cast for big movies?
Use this thread to post your headshots for feedback, get info on your age range/type, find good headshot photographers, ask any questions you may have about headshots. If you are posting a DIY headshot for feedback, and not just a snapshot in order to get feedback on your age range/type/etc, it is advised that you do at least some basic research on what actor headshots look like--composition, framing, lighting. You will find a Google Image search for "actor headshots" to be very helpful for this. Non-professional shots are fine for age/typecasting; please keep in mind that one picture is a difficult way to go about this. Video of you moving and speaking would be ideal, but understandably more difficult to post. For what it's worth, the branding workshop at SAG-AFTRA recommends a five-year age range. That's inclusive, so for example 19-23, 25-29, 34-38, etc.
Ok, so, let's just hope I can make you understand what I'm trying to ask here: when a show goes into syndication for example Frasier, Seinfeld and the likes, what are the practicalities for those actors to receive their checks at the end of the month..?! Meaning, how much do they get paid and on what basis? Do they get a certain amount depending on how many times they have been shown on cable or television that month or do they just get a flat fee at the time of first releasing the show and that is the end of it? I surely hope I made myself clear, because I have been wondering this for ages and I can't seem to be able to find any sort of answer on the internet and believe me I tried this is my last resort so please guys and girls and everyone in between please please help thank you in advance !!
Hi guys! Today I finally met with my dream agent, he reps some of the most successful actors in Hollywood, and always been encouraging to me. We first talked 2 years ago, he asked me to work on getting a North America accent and become a permanent resident in Canada, and then come to him again. Last week, I sent him all my demo and scene studies, he said he now WANT to meet me. So, today, we finally meet via zoom. and from our conversation, I feel like he’s really good at what he’s doing, knows the industry well. Our meeting was 1.5 hour. It was going well until I sabotage my audition by forgetting my lines. ( I thought it was just gonna be a quick chat, that’s what he said in the email, so I didn’t prepare for a audition). Then he told me I’m not ready. And said email him again when I have a “perfect America accent” He said “what’s the point of me signing you if you can’t get work? It’s a business. I make movie stars” I already know he has a reputation of being harsh, but I also think that’s probably what make him good, and I want to keep getting better, so I thought having a agent who’s always straightforward would help me improve.. But I’m also confused. If he watched all my tapes and decided that he “Want” to meet with me, he should already know what I sound like and my accent, and in the beginning of our meeting, he said lots of his clients have accent too so it’s not a big deal to him. but after I failed my audition, he said contact him again when I have perfect America accent…. Because right now when he closes his eyes, he only hear a Chinese person. So I’m confused is it really because of my accent or Becuase I sabotaged my audition? Also, jimmy O yang from Silicon Valley has an accent, sofia vergara has a strong accent in modern family, Ronny Chieng and Menger Zhang from shangchi, they all have accents but successful… Why is agent still only taking on actors who only sounds Americans? Is there absolutely no roles for me as long as I still sounds Chinese?
just a few weeks ago I decided background acting was another thing I'd like to try someday. I added it to the list of "Things That Would be Neat, But That I Probably Won't Get the Chance to Do." now just a couple weeks later, this week I've had the pleasure of working as a non-union background actor for a big netflix film!! it's definitely not on the same level as acting, and I have no lines, but it's still SO cool to be on a professional set (even though all the days I shot so far I either wasn't used or wasn't in the shot...) and I've definitely learned a lot, even if I've only had in total around 10 minutes of being around the director/principal actors. Even though acting (preferably with lines) is my passion, this has given me an even deeper yearning to be in front of the camera (I come from a theatre background); just being on a hustling bustling set I feel has ignited a passion in me.... I'm scheduled to film one more day, tomorrow. Here's to hoping I make it in a shot or two! Also—a question for fellow background actors: what constitutes as a credit on, let's say, imdb. Do you have to have a line to be on of those people listed as "Jane Doe (Uncredited)"? Or like a prominent amount of screen time with no lines? Was a bit confused about that.... Thanks!
Hey fellow actors! As the title suggest I’ve just successfully been signed by my first ever agent and I’m now feeling a little bit lost on what I should be doing with myself now? I used to spend time everyday looking at castings on spotlight and applying for various roles. Now that I have an agent doing that on my behalf is there something else beneficial I could be doing with my time to help further my career? Just feel with the spare time I now have I should be using it in a productive way. Love to hear if anyone else has felt in a similar way and how they dealt with it. Thanks!
I live in Atlanta and just wanted to make sure if I should sign up or go for the more expensive backstage.com Or Should I use actors access
I am a 15-year-old girl looking to become a voice actor like Zach Aguilar in my future. I live around LA and I’m hoping to find lessons and anything that can get me exposed to this kind of work. Does anyone have any advice of what to do and where to get lessons from either virtually or in person?
[Demo Link](https://soundcloud.com/joeybriggsvo/joey-briggs-animation-vo-demo?si=c13f1f3ac256456f9171352ba39f41b5) I like to self produce myself a new demo reel every year both for fun and as a way to sort of track my progress as a voice actor. Would love some fresh ears on it and some feedback on the both the demo and voices in it. I've been going back and fourth on lines and characters so much that I really don't know whats good or bad anymore.
One thing that has got me worried nowadays is that even after the COVID-19 pandemic ends, voice actors will continue to work remotely. I feel like that if things continue to go this way, the quality of their voice work will not be as good as when the animation studios were together in one place.
I'm 24 about to have my 2nd kid. And I feel like it's too late to become an actor. I want to so bad I just don't know where to start
So, I’m currently doing a short film and one of my fellow actors told me to check out WIFT—Women in Film & Television. This person has a huge amount of professional credits and has been working professionally with several agents for a few years, so I trust their word. However, signing up requires me to have a sponsor of sorts, and while the idea of being a part of this group is great, I unfortunately do not have a sponsor or someone who recruited me unless you count the person who told me about it. Does anyone know more details about this group and how to sign up? I’d love to be more aware of the acting community where I live and have more opportunities haha
Hi Fellow Actors, I just learnt the news that my scene was cut from a major feature film. Heartbreaking, I know. I mourned for like 5 minutes already. But a pat on my own shoulder because I booked the job and the scene was really great! However, it didn't;t make the final cut. Here's my story, I have been training my craft since 2016 and been self submitting since August last year. I was invited to audition for a role in a huge Netflix film, my character had a page an a half dialogue( principle role!) alongside a very established actor. Being non-union, they had to Taft-Harley me. This being filmed prior to vaccination, it was an- 8 day paid quarantine plus one day's shoot in a covid-free bubble. My first film credit, literally, in a major film. So I spent the entire year looking forward for this movie to come out, I was going to organize watch parties with my fellow actor friends! Then.... boom! I got a text this morning from a fellow actor in the same scene, whom I presume got the news from their agent. Our scene was cut for length, it had nothing to do with us. I'm super glad they told me because I wouldn't have known otherwise, I don't even have an agent yet. I will literally find out in theatre sitting next to loved ones lol...... I'm spared. The bad side: - I was crushed, I mean CRUSHED for a moment. \-All these awkward conversations I will be having telling my friends and loved ones, no, you won't see me in that movie. I think this might the biggest regret. The good side: -I booked it, I was on set, I filmed it! Still my first major credit I hope? \-I learnt a huge lesson about show business, always enjoy the process more than the result. Because nothing will ever be promised. \-The entire team from the director to the crew has been just the best, kindest, most thoughtful and dedicated people I ever have the privilege to work with. They really raised the bar for what it takes to work in the business. I learned a whole years worth of what I would learn in a classroom by being on set for one day. \-This feels like a secret initiation of some sorts? Something along the line had happened to numerous actors who eventually made it. So I'm not losing hope. Hope my little story of the day will inspire you all the stay in the grind! Happy holidays!
Hello Reddit. I’m currently 19 and I’m in college in a double major program: computer science and theatre. I’ve been grinding acting for over a year and a half almost two years. Just got a meeting for a pretty good agency in the Kansas City area. I’m located in Fayetteville Arkansas. The questions I have are for those college students or honestly anyone who had a big work load on top of an agent. I’m wondering how doable is having an agent in college? Let’s just say she does sign me, what should I as an actor be prepared for? I just want to be as straight forward with her about what I can bring to the table. I want compete transparency. I’m just stressing out about the possibility and how well I’ll manage. Any advice would really help, I’ve got a meeting tomorrow with the agent.
I'm based in NYC, and I'm seeing a lot of Equity theater calls on Playbill for regional companies in OH, MD etc. Are they expecting to only have actors audition who are based in those markets, or is it likely they're expecting actors from bigger markets like NYC to audition? Would they cover travel/accommodation costs, or expect me to be at an in person call back within a day or 2? Especially now it's all through video, it's hard to tell as before Covid it would have been clear based on whether auditions were being held locally or not. Don't want to waste time auditioning via video only to be told I need to show up for a call back halfway across the country the next day for a small role.
For me, I'd say Paul Newman. I have an immense amount of respect for his body of work and would love to pick his brain. How about you?
So last month a movie I’m starring in came out on pretty much every single VOD platform and cable. It’s a genre movie and it’s very indie. The first week we found the film was heavily pirated and the comments were talking about how the movie was sitting at a 9 and that they needed to “fix it”. So it was a bumpy start but the reviews and ratings started to level out. It wasn’t soon after that a couple YouTubers not all started reviewing the movie and calling my acting horrible. Now it’s to the point where a handful of people are calling me out specifically that I’m a horrible actor and that I destroyed the movie. I know it’s my first leading role in a film but these reviews are vicious and starting to take a toll on my mental health. I am dating a local agent (thank god we aren’t exclusive) who only started submitting me once the movie came out even though they became my non-exclusive agent in late 2020. I just feel like this negative feedback on my performance is now a death sentence for my career. On the plus side I have more people telling me I did an amazing job than I do with the ones saying I’m the worst actor alive and some have even sprinkled the fact that me being overweight ruined their experience as well. Has anyone had this experience or is going through this experience have any advice? I’m at the point where I have nightmares that my career is over before it’s even began. I have never booked commercial work and I’ve recently joined SAG-AFTRA after I starred in this theatrical. Maybe I need more classes but that just seems to burn a hole in my pocket. I don’t know. I never posted anything on Reddit. Maybe I needed to let this out.
So I'm trying to make a bit of a demo reel to get into the VA buisness, but I have trouble making a script for it. I'm good at reading off a script, and improvising once I already have a character, but making a script meant to bounce around from various characters and emotions quickly is difficult for me. Is there any place where I could get very short scripts(2-4 lines) to try to show off my vocal and emotional range. I would try to copy pre-existing scenes that already display wide range of emotions, but I'm tend to end up trying to copy what the actors there already did instead of doing my own thing.
Everytime I act I sound very sick in an deep tone.when I watch actors the sound is clear and very confident.how can I speak in a more proper tone?

I have spent the last couple years preparing and now I'm trying to find an agent.
I had an acting teacher tell us to always send in two different versions of the audition. But how would you even do this on a platform like Actors Access/ Eco casting where you can only upload one video? I guess you could just put them back to back on one recording. But I would wonder if the casting director would even realize there's another one coming up or take the time to watch it.
Hi, I am 20 years old and am stuck in life but I think I want to be an actor. Each time I watch a movie or tv show I just think about acting. I don't know what it is about it that draws me to acting like that. I don't know if it's what I know I want to do or what. What should I do and how do I know it is what I want. I am also in a bad spot in my life. Currently have no money and still live with my grandparents. I also have major social anxiety and get scared and shy when I talk to many people. And I don't have any drive. I feel tired all the time. But ya what should I do and how can I get the drive I need to start something.
Hey guys, I'm an Irish actor, but on Sunday my friends and I shot me performing a monologue from Far Cry 5 Would love to hear your thoughts on it [https://youtu.be/ohG9Tus8oHw](https://youtu.be/ohG9Tus8oHw)
Hey guys. I'm a new actor in Los Angeles looking for an acting agent. I was wondering if there's such a thing as an "acting agent broker"?! Someone that will contact the agents on your behalf and help you find one. Thanks in advance.
hello im thinking of becoming an actor however i am 23 years old and I look like im 17 i always have to show my id whether its going to see a 18+ movie, buying alcohol etc.. do you see this as an advantage or disadvantage?
This might be a dumb question but it's mostly out of curiousity. My agent got me a pretty big audition and while she said I did great, I wasn't expecting much and mostly forgot about it. But today I just saw that role posted on the actor facing side of AA and was just wondering if that means they've definitely moved on from me? The other roles in the previous breakdown weren't there either so it seems like this is the only role still left to cast.
Hey all, I'm new to casting via Backstage and don't really understand how their audition works? When I create a audition with unscheduled applicants, is it my responsibility to schedule applicants and put it in the applicants's court to request a reschedule or has creating the audition alerted them that I want them to audition and given them the power to request a slot without me adding them to the schedule? Very confused. I want the actor to pick the slot they can fit into their day during the day to audition. Much thanks in advance.
We are searching for a female voice actor to play the role of a computer-generated Mermaid in our student film. The film is set in England so a South east English accent is preferable but any British accents are accepted! The premise is: a fisherman goes to a beach where a fabled mermaid is known to live. She is a mysterious entity he believes will be able to bring his wife back from her death at sea. She lures him toward the water and unbeknown to him prepares for attack. Ideally, we are looking for a deep, rich voice but would be open to hearing all types of female voices. As we need to begin the process of lip syncing the mermaid to the dialogue we would like to try and arrange to have the lines finished by the 7th of December latest. As we will also be animating to the voice, we need footage of your face preferably with a range of emotion. We know this is a big ask and if you have any issues with it, please let us know early, the footage will not be shown anywhere and will have its sole use in animation reference for us. The piece consists of 4 lines from the mermaid and so we would be looking to pay £40 for our voice actress. Our voice actress will also be credited in the film which will be submitted to multiple film awards and seen by major Film studios. We look forward to hearing all applicants!
I need a female voice actor to say “I don’t like Mason.. & “Fuck that guy IDLM (Pronounced EHD-LIM) Since the audio file will be short I am offering to pay 30$ for the service.
I've always dreamed of getting into movie acting, but I'm extremely shy, awkward and easily embarrassed (also scared that I'm not good too). The uncertainty is also an issue. I took an acting class, but when they gave us the certificate, it turned out to be more of a scam - we never got to actually work with lines or speaking, there was a grammatical error in the certificate,we were promised to be extras in a movie, but suddenly, there were roles only for 2 people from the class etc. What are your tips? (PS also in my country people in my age group are mainly "casted" as s*x workers or women for the actor to have intimate scenes with, so there's always the "tall, attractive, good looking etc. " requirement.)
I had aspirations and interest in acting but over the pandemic I've suddenly lost it or have no desire to enter the film industry anymore. Mainly because of male actors who mistreat and cheat on their partners, dodgy or misportrayed women, dodgy execs and always building a narrative, racism, etc. Also, I feel like movies nowadays have really sunk in story quality. I like writing but I don't know if I can commit to writing scripts. I'd still like to continue singing, but I wonder why I suddenly lost interest or joy in acting.
BREAKING NEWS!!! WARNING TO ALL BACKGROUND ACTORS: Westworld S4 Production/Payroll Companies are Refusing to Pay Background Talent for Filming, Fitting, and Covid Tests, and will work you through the entire day with no lunch. It's been over a month, and I've received no checks from them and for them to state that they are no longer a part of Westworld's Production.
I just saw a interview with Katie O’Hagan and she said she didnt know what she was in going to be in Resident Evil 7 until a year after creating her character? why do some actors not know upfront?
I’m a writer/director currently working thru an edit of a micro short film shit this summer. Everyone put so much work into the project, but am going through the edit now and we are planning to do a re-shoot of a scene. One of my actors, let’s call her Shailey, is only heard though her voice the entirety of the project. Shailey was really difficult to work with during pre-production, while she put a lot of prep work in, she was not good at communication. Several times I had to reach out to follow up from things she said she’d do and never happened. It felt like pulling teeth. Once I was doing rehearsal with her and we broke halfway thru, Shailey had an appointment and said she’d be gone an hour, would let me know when she got back to finish the character rehearsal. She never reached back, went to the movies that night, and I never heard from her for two weeks. It was a frustrating experience. Shailey’s character is only heard during the film, a conversation with our lead on-screen talent. I’m editing and planning a pick-up shoot, i feel like I should re-cast Shailey’s role. She has been paid already, but I don’t want to deal with communication (pulling teeth) during prep like last time and her performance was off, I know I can re-cast with a better talent. As I’m a director, I don’t want to hurt Shailey, but I am spending my own money on this film. I don’t want to deal with a flakey actor.
It’s a play within a play I did in high school. Basically this director is trying to put together a school play but all the actors are terrible whilst at the same time there’s a school prom going on. I remember I played the character whose motto was rise above and she was a black character. She was the directors assistant. I think her name started with a M. Like mitsy or something.
Trying to get together a team of actors/ actresses, filmmakers, and writers.
I am someone who learns languages, and one of my interests is sounding as close as possible to a native speaker. Obviously skilled voice actors are very impressive in what they are able to accomplish with their voices, so I am wondering if anyone has seen any cross over into language learning? Are there any resources or pearls of wisdom from the voice acting community which you think would be useful for those who are in the language learning community?
I am a 16 year old junior in high school and I want to pursue acting professionally. I only just decided that two years ago in my freshman theater class, so I'm not the most versed in acting. However, I've done all the school plays that have come my way and even auditioned for local theater shows. I've also started performing standup comedy and have found success in that, earning 20 bucks for doing 10 minutes in a local coffee shop. However, I live in Montana, and there really aren't much opportunities to do things. There are talent agencies in Montana and two of my friends are signed to different agencies, one as a model and the other is a singer. I am looking into at least submitting an application to be signed as an actor/comedian/singer to one of these agencies and I have no idea what I'm doing. First, they're acting for my acting resume, which I don't even have and even if I did, it would only be a few school plays. They also want a headshot, which I don't have, but I can easily fix that. What should I do for my resume even though it's very limited?
I'm in Toronto and have never acted. I plan to take classes as soon as I can afford it, but until then I'm trying to find other opportunities to get into it. I've read that student films help build experience, but the places I've been looking at, like facebook groups and whatnot, usually seem to require...something? Like a self tape, for instance. I'm not sure if I would just record some random tape of myself by reading a script online and winging it or what. I'm assuming that would be foolish. So I guess my question is, generally speaking, how would I build experience right now if I don't have the money for classes? Advice tailored to Toronto would be preferred, but I appreciate any advice I can get. Thanks!
I'm a NYC based actor and almost three weeks ago I met an agent at a zoom seminar through an acting studio here in the city. I came in during the Q+A part of the seminar and got good vibes from the agent. When it was my turn to perform I was one on one with the agent and performed a monologue. We started talking about my monologue choice, (which was from a failed Broadway play) which he loved lol. After I performed he said I did a fantastic job and that my choice was "very refreshing". He also said "Of course I can't say anything right now but I'll definitely be keeping you in mind". I was thrilled! I emailed him a thank you and all my info the following morning. Soon it'll be three weeks since our meeting and I have yet to hear from him. Which is killing me! The thing is I found another seminar he will be at in two weeks (5 weeks after our first meeting). TL;DR **Would it be unprofessional to attend another one of his seminars and do another monologue if I don't hear from him? I don't want to be all stalkerish and I know he's busy, but this is a dream agent who said such promising things to me.**
Hey everyone. I’m a child actor from New England that has mostly done theater up to about a half year ago. My first film experience began when a casting agent from Boston Casting called me, asking for me to do an audition for a new Stephen King movie (Salem’s Lot). I had three days to practice as Danny Glick before my audition. Unfortunately, I did not get the part, but I was able to become an extra for the movie. I was originally had 2 scenes booked, before I was given a 3rd (don’t know if that means anything). Since then I haven’t gotten another part, and I’m worried that I won’t get another chance. If I do get a chance, I doubt it will be anything more than an extra. And I don’t want to be an extra for the rest of my career. I know that sounds immature and childish, but I want to change and help people with my performances, like the actors that I love have done to me. I hope you understand what I’m feeling
Acting as we should all know is being in the moment and responding truthfully but being vulnerable enough that anything can get through to us. But in day to day life if we carry that mindset with us it could be damaging. So how do you properly transition mindsets?
Hello all ! I’m sure most are familiar with Dacre Montgomery’s self-tape for Stranger Things [(x)](https://youtu.be/cJ1zhq3yNBM). I recently read a casting directors twitter thread where they announced that (in regard to the self-tape) actors should focus more on their acting choices as opposed to editing (in regards to specifically Dacre’s dancing to music as Billy). So I’ve come to ask if there are any actors who have additional ways to stand out aside from making great choices within a scene. I’ve posted here about adding “one-liners” to a scene, and noticed Dacre does do a rather stylish “Hey, I’m Billy… nice to meet you” to the camera. TL;DR — aside from acting choices you can make in a scene, are there any tried and proven tips to make a self-tape great akin to something like adding “one-liners” Any help would be appreciated.
I have SPD, and certain clothing textures/styles, and hairstyles are very uncomfortable and even painful. Is acting a possibility, considering there’s so much I can’t wear? I don’t want to talk to every director and fellow actor I work with, since I know there’s a good chance they’ll just think it’s an excuse or I’m making it up.
Weeee, you found me!
I'm your buddy Bottie, I was hiding behind the scenes, but now that you've found me I'd be happy to tell you what I'm doing.
I just wrote a few fun facts about Web For Actors
